AMCHAM invites you to an afternoon program with Y.B. Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Finance Minister II, on Monday, February 5 from 2.15 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. at The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur.

This is a unique opportunity that AMCHAM has to engage rising areas such as the digital economy, e-Government, the current Budget, and to get his perspective on the economic and regulatory outlook for Malaysia in the new year. We anticipate an engaging discussion and encourage all members to participate.

    Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani is a qualified Chartered Accountant and he is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.

    During the Malaysia general elections in May 2013, he won the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat and on 27th July 2015, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance. Following a cabinet reshuffle on 27th June 2016, Datuk Seri Johari was appointed as the Minister of Finance II.

    Datuk Seri Johari sits on the Malaysia Economic Council. The Council, which is chaired by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, is responsible, among others, to formulate strategies to sustain the economic growth of Malaysia through foreign direct investment and domestic investments for the country and to monitor and analyze trends in the development of both global and domestic economy in order to formulate specific actions to spur the Malaysian economic growth.
