Arif Fahim Regional Director – Asia Pacific Health Economics & Reimbursement of Abbott Medical Arif Fahim is the Regional Director, Health Economics and Reimbursement for Abbott in the Asia Pacific region. Mr Fahim has wide-ranging experience in leading HTA submissions, market-entry and reimbursement for innovative medical technologies across major markets in the APAC region, including Japan, Australia, Korea, China, India, among others. He heads up the Global Taskforce on Early Value Assessment Taskforce at Abbott and is the present Chair of APACMED’s Digital Health Reimbursement committee and an active member of the GAMA working group.

Dr Izzuna Mudla Mohamed Ghazali Head of Malaysian Health Technology Assessment Section (MaHTAS), Medical Development Division at Ministry of Health Malaysia Dr. Izzuna Mudla Mohamed Ghazali is the Deputy Director of the Medical Development Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia, and the Head of the Malaysian Health Technology Assessment Section (MaHTAS). She is a Public Health Physician and joined MaHTAS in 2007. She plays a key role in planning and implementing health technology assessment, development, and implementation of clinical practice guidelines, evidence-based medicine and was responsible for setting up horizon scanning of emerging health technologies activity for the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Dr. Izzuna is actively involved at the local and international levels. She is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malaya, University of Science Malaysia, and Cyberjaya University. She is also a member of various committees at the national level including Cluster of Emerging Technologies, Nutritional Research, National Technology Innovation Sandbox, Case-mix Technical Committee, and National Rare Disease Committee. At the international level, she is currently the Chair of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research (ISPOR) HTA Roundtable Asia Pacific, President of HTAsiaLink, Regional Coordinator for AsiaScan, the regional group for the Asia Pacific Region of the International Health TechScan (i-HTS), and a member of the organizing committee for HTAi Asia Policy Forum.

Antony Lee CEO of AIG Insurance Malaysia Bhd Antony Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of AIG Malaysia. Antony, a Malaysian citizen, has been in the insurance sector for over 21 years. Prior to this appointment, he was the CEO of AIG Vietnam from 2011 where his responsibilities included the development of a key growth country for AIG within the Asia Pacific region. He began his career at AIG in 2001 as VP of Business Development with AIG’s Software International JV based in Malaysia. Antony holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Diploma in Architecture from University College London and is also a graduate of AIG’s Executive Development Management program. He is currently the Chairman of the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM); the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) as well as the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). He is also a director of the Ombudsman for Financial Services (OFS); Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) and Nicol David Organisation (NDO).

Feras Mahdi Head of MedTech, Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters and Southeast Asia at IQVIA Feras Mahdi is the Head of MedTech, Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters and Southeast Asia at IQVIA. In this role he is responsible for IQVIA’s strategy and commercial consulting services provided across the MedTech space. He is passionate about data science and is focused on driving deep analytics solutions for complex client problems. Prior to joining IQVIA, Feras was the APAC regional director for Medtronic’s Gastrointestinal business unit, where he drove strategic growth with key product launches including first-of-its-kind AI-powered diagnostic devices. Feras was also Director at GE Healthcare Partners where he led award winning large scale transformation projects in both the public and private healthcare provider sectors. In addition, Feras co-founded CamStent Ltd, a UK based medical device company that manufactures bacteria resistant catheters. Feras is a strong advocate for inclusion and disability rights, serving as Chair and Board member of Empowerment Through Integration, an international non governmental organisation working with the visually impaired. Feras holds a Master’s degree in BioScience Enterprise from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge as well as a Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the American University of Beirut. He also completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the university.

She and her team members across strategic markets in the region lead external stakeholder engagement to help drive business priorities. With over 5 years of working experience in Abbott, she is a trusted business partner of Abbott’s nutrition, devices, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals businesses. She joined Abbott as Director, Government Affairs. Prior to Abbott, Shakilla was Monsanto’s Corporate Affairs Lead for Asia Pacific where she led a capable team to drive acceptance for technology in Agriculture. Shakilla joined Monsanto in 2008 as Regional Marketing Lead. She was then promoted to Country Lead, Thailand where she was leading Monsanto Thailand’s business for 2 years, based in Bangkok, Thailand. Shakilla’s experience in the healthcare industry includes her role as Regional Government Affairs Manager for South East Asia in Boston Scientific; and various positions in sales, marketing and corporate affairs in Merck Sharp & Dohme. Shakilla chairs Women Leaders of Abbott (WLA) Asia. She is Honorary Secretary of the Board of Governors in AmCham Singapore. She chairs the Government Affairs Committee of APACMED (Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association); and is an active participant of the Management Committee of APIYCNA (Asia Pacific Infant and Young Children Nutrition Association). Shakilla holds a Bachelor of Science degree and an Executive MBA from the National University of Singapore. Shakilla’s passion is to help young women discover their full potential. She is a mentor at the Asian University for Women. She also enjoys discovering new places, the arts and yoga.
