The Embassy of Japan in Kuala Lumpur and MAJECA (Malaysia-Japan Economic Association) invite AMCHAM members to Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia for an exclusive program with renowned economist Professor Motoshige Ito on Monday, 28 August 2017 from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM.

Professor Motoshige Ito is a renowned and distinguished economics professor in Japan and an advocate of Japan's economic reform known as Abenomics. Seen as a leading mind behind Abenomics, Professor Ito is one of the economic experts advising Prime Minister Abe on the Japanese economy.

The seminar aims to provide an overview of the current situation of the Japanese economy and the various fiscal stimulus, monetary easing and reforms for Japan under the concept of “Abenomics”. The keynote speaker, Professor Motoshige Ito, will also touch on the future of the Japanese economy going forward.

    Motoshige Ito

    Professor Motoshige Ito is a renowned and distinguished economics professor in Japan and an advocate of Japan's economic reform known as Abenomics. Seen as a leading mind behind Abenomics, Professor Ito is one of the economic experts advising Prime Minister Abe on the Japanese economy.


    Born in 1951, Professor Ito graduated from the University of Tokyo and received his PhD in economics from the University of Rochester. He became a professor at the University of Tokyo in 1993 and taught at the Graduate School of Economics there from 1996 to 2016. He is currently a Professor in the Faculty of International Social Sciences at Gakushūin University.
