The EIS bill was approved by the Dewan Rakyat on 26 October 2017 and has been designed to provide additional financial security, careers counseling, and retraining for Malaysian workers that lose their jobs due to retrenchment. Contributions of 0.2% of monthly salaries will be required from both employers and employees. To our understanding, the existing Employment Termination Layoff Benefit regulations and mandatory Human Resources Development Fund contributions from employers will be unaffected by this new program.
This roundtable discussion offers CEOs, Finance Directors, and Human Resources Managers the opportunity to access detailed information about the legislation and its implementation, to have your questions answered directly by the people designated to manage the implementation of the scheme from January 2018, to offer any feedback or suggestions before the bill is taken to Dewan Negara in early December.
To ensure the size of the program can deliver a robust conversation, seating is limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. We expect a lot of interest in this event and recommend your early registration.
PLEASE NOTE: To make this a more productive session, if you have questions to submit ahead of the program please send these to firstname.lastname@example.org
