AMCHAM would like to invite HR Professionals to attend 2 exclusive sessions specially organised for members only on August 25, 2016 from 2:30 - 5:30p.m. followed by an evening of networking from 5:30-7:00p.m. at Equatorial Hotel Penang.

The first session by TalentCorp will start at 2:30 - 4:00p.m. Mr Tan Keat Meng, Manager of Foreign Talent Facilitation & Shared Services will be providing members with the latest updates on the following areas:-
  • New requirement for Employment Pass (Category I, II and III)
  • Sharing on updated statistics of Employment Pass across all sectors in Malaysia
  • Updates on TalentCorp’s programs and initiatives, including new programs

The HR Dialogue will bring together Senior HR Leaders within our membership, Sam Haggag, Country Manager of Manpower Group, Suresh Chandra, HR Director of Intel and Peter Lee, HR Manager of Celestica sharing best practices and case studies on "How to effectively use Employee Engagement Programs in your organisation". This session will take place from 4:00 - 5:30p.m.

    Manager, Foreign Talent Facilitation & Shared Services at TalentCorp

    Keat Meng has been with TalentCorp engaging with Industries across all sectors since 2012 in the Malaysian Talent Development Special Projects unit and followed by Client Management Team in 2013. He joined the Foreign Talent Facilitation unit in 2014 engaging various stakeholders towards facilitating expatriate matters. This include the facilitation of Employment Pass through the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) and Residence Pass-Talent (RPT) program which is part and parcel of Malaysia’s Economic Growth.

    A Bachelor Degree Holder in International Hospitality Management from University of Toulouse, France, he has over 8 years of experience in the hotel industry particularly in the Sales & Marketing division and 7 years in a Private Education sector as the Head of Career Services Centre for the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts.

    Among his accomplishments include pre-opening of a hotel and the setting up of MYXpats Centre, a collaboration between TalentCorp with Immigration Department of Malaysia and overseen by Ministry of Home Affairs.

    Suresh Chandra has been in this role since 2010. Prior to this he held the position of Finance Director for the Intel Malaysia site– a role he held from April of 2001 to 2010. Suresh has been with Intel for more than 25 years.

    In his role overseeing the HR division in Intel Malaysia, Suresh is responsible for ~ 8000 employees in 2 locations. Intel’s operations in Malaysia are very diverse and include a large manufacturing footprint employing ~ 4000 employees, R&D and Engineering which has ~ 3000 employees and the remaining support variety of functions including Shared Services for HR, IT and Finance, Logistics and various other site services.

    A Chemical Engineer by training; and over 20 years experience in the HR services industry in Europe, the Middle East and Asia; Sam has a wealth of experience in the implementation of HR solutions and best practices gained from working with a wide range of local and multi-national organizations.

    Sam joined ManpowerGroup in 1999 and headed up the Manpower Singapore operation till March 2003. In 2003 Sam was appointed Regional Account Director with the Manpower Asia regional office and promoted to Field Development Director for Asia Pacific in 2007. In 2011, Sam was promoted to Managing Director of Experis, the ManpowerGroup’s professional services arm, for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, whilst retaining responsibility for the ManpowerGroup
    operations in Malaysia.

    In 2014 Sam took over responsibility for ManpowerGroup’s Managed Services solutions including development and delivery of MSP solutions in Asia Pac & the Middle East. He is the regional sponsor for MSP and Sales.
    Sam joined the executive committee of the Call Centre Council of Singapore (CCCS) in 1999, became chairman in 2002 and led the formation of the Contact Centre Association of Singapore (CCAS) and remained as Chairman till 2009 when he relocated to Malaysia.

    Sam is a regular speaker on trends in the changing world of work including trends in talent attraction and retention, how to drive productivity of the workforce and re-skilling talent to meet the demands of rapidly changing work environment. Sam has advised government agencies on re-skilling workforces and establishing long term strategies to address skill shortages.

    An architect by training, Peter landed his first job as a construction buyer. While building his career in supply chain, he discovered his passion in helping others to grow and knew that his next career change to HR was inevitable. After the initial resistance to change, he finally moved out of his comfort zone and took up his first role in HR.

    Since then, Peter has taken up different HR roles ranging from organization and leadership development, talent management and business partnering. With a strong business background, he is recognized as an HR professional that thinks strategically, adapts quickly and communicates effectively to deliver business results.

    Peter joined Celestica in 2016 as the HR manager for a new Global Business Services (GBS) office in Penang. GBS is a global organization with around 900 employees, spreading across 9 different sites to deliver end-to-end global business services and solutions that enable Celestica’s profitable growth.

    Other than supporting the GBS employees in Penang, Peter is also leading a global focus group on “Building our GBS Community”. This group focuses on building a sense of belonging among GBS employees around the world, which includes rewards and recognition, as well as employee engagement programs.
