AMCHAM is delighted to invite members to join a roundtable discussion with the Washington D.C. - based Information Technology Industry Council (https://www.itic.org/) focused on the development of high-technology sectors in Malaysia.


The discussion will take place on Wednesday 20th February from 3:00pm to 4:30pm at the new AMCHAM Executive Office. Our roundtable discussion will focus on key policy areas that will drive and enable the development of high-technology sectors in Malaysia, particularly the areas of accessibility, technical standards, regulatory compliance, international trade policy, and cybersecurity.


This event is free of charge and open to both AMCHAM member companies and ITIC member companies (https://www.itic.org/about/member-companies).


The Information Technology Industry Council is a U.S.-based trade association that represents companies from the information and communications technology (ICT) industry. ITI works within the U.S. and overseas to promote the adoption of policies that encourage innovation and promote global competitiveness.


ITI's Global Policy division works to maintain and promote market access for the ICT industry. ITI collaborates with the U.S. Trade Representative, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. embassies abroad to address expanding global market access.

    As a member of ITI's Policy team, Josh Rosenberg manages policy issues relating to technical standards and regulations and their global impact on information and communication technologies. Josh also staffs ITI's Asia Pacific Regulatory Network, which utilizes local ITI members in the region to help predict and respond to critical market access and regulatory issues.

    Prior to joining ITI, Josh spent three years as a consultant at a public affairs consulting firm in Washington, specializing in technology and telecommunications policy. He has also worked as an economist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Advanced Technology Program and spent four years living and working in Japan.

    Josh received his B.A. in political science from Tufts University and holds a Master's Degree in international business and policy from the University of California, San Diego.

    Emma Rafaelof is a manager on the Policy team, specializing in China and Greater Asia. Prior to this position, Emma supported the Policy team as the China Graduate Fellow while pursuing her Master of Arts in Asian Studies at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. Before joining ITI, Emma interned at the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office of China Affairs focusing on technology policy and intellectual property issues in the U.S.-China bilateral relationship. Additionally, Emma has a background managing startups with a focus on tech-based solutions for language learning and business development. She has also worked extensively with digital media as both a video editor and a consultant for web and graphic design.

    Emma is fluent in Mandarin Chinese having studied the language for over 11 years. As a native of Boulder, Colorado, she graduated from the University of Colorado with a triple major in Chinese language and literature, English literature, and Asian Studies, as well as a minor in Japanese language.
