AMCHAM cordially invites you to a special breakfast talk on Tuesday, November 5th 2019 from 9.00am to 11.00am at the AMCHAM Executive Office to hear from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) about their recently-released 'Principal Hub 2.0' Incentive Program, and from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) about their new Services Incentive.


The original Principal Hub incentive has been in place since 2015 and is designed to attract multinational companies to leverage Malaysia as a base for conducting their regional or global businesses. Enhancements to the Principal Hub incentive were announced by MIDA in early October 2019 - please see herefor more information.


To help your business understand the content and rationale behind this enhanced incentive scheme, we are delighted to welcome Ms. Reena Kanny, Deputy Director of MIDA's Business Services & Supply Chain Innovation Division.


MDEC's presentation will be delivered by Mr. Justin Tan, Head of Research & Advisory, Investment & Industry Development. Each of our guests speakers will provide a short presentation and there will be plenty of time for questions from the audience.

    Reena has been working with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) forthe last 14 years. Having joined MIDA in2005, she has served across multiple departments including Machinery & Equipment, Foreign Investment Promotion, and Iron & Steel Industries.

    Reena was assigned to serve in MIDA New York from 2012-2016 which has given her the exposure of working with the American business community with her coverage of overseeing 13 States that includes key industrial clusters such as New Jersey (pharma & life
    sciences), North Carolina (aviation & aerospace) & Washington D.C. (financial services). Reena has also been involved in the setting up and expansion of major projects inMalaysia by US MNC’s.

    Since returning to MIDA HQ in 2016, Reena has served in the Business Services and Supply Chain Innovation Division. Under her purview of the Division, is the Principal Hub Tax Incentive Package for companies that make Malaysia their Regional or Global Hub.

    Justin heads the Research & Advisory department within the Investment & Industry Development (IID) division of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). In his current role, Justin assists in shaping policies and regulations that impact Malaysia’s digital economy and attracting key investments in Malaysia. Additionally, Justin looks into critical enablers and industry ecosystems to ensure the continued development of Malaysia’s digital economy. Prior to this, Justin headed the Investor Management and Development department within MDEC to nurture the growth of digital companies within Malaysia. Justin was previously a management consultant at various firms before joining MDEC.
