    President and CEO of Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA)

    John Neuffer is President and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), which has been the voice of the chip industry for over four decades. He has been at the nexus of technology, public policy, and trade for most of his career. Since joining SIA in 2015, John has led the association’s policy advocacy in Washington and capitals around the world to foster growth and innovation in semiconductor design, manufacturing, and research. John also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Semiconductor Research Corporation, the world’s leading non-profit industry-government-academia microelectronics research consortium.

    Prior to joining SIA, John served as Senior Vice President for Global Policy at the Information Technology Industry Council, where he led a global team to expand market access opportunities for member companies around the world. He directed all global government relations in trade, cybersecurity, standards, regulatory, Internet governance, and privacy.

    Previously, John served for over seven years at the Office of United States Trade Representative (USTR) in Washington, DC: two years as Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Affairs, preceded by over five years as Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan.

    Prior to his tenure with USTR, John was a Senior Research Fellow and Political Analyst with the Mitsui Kaijyo Research Institute in Tokyo for nine years. As a leading commentator on Japanese politics and policy at the institute, he published a widely read newsletter and wrote regular commentary for the Asian Wall Street Journal, TheStreet.com and Newsweek Japan. All told, John lived in Japan 11 years. He is a native of Montana and Washington State.

    Jimmy Goodrich

    VP, Global Policy at SIA

    Jimmy Goodrich joined SIA in 2015 and is vice president for global policy. In this role, Jimmy leads SIA’s global policy team and directs SIA’s international competitiveness, trade, export control, supply chain, global market research, and China policy agenda.

    Jimmy has a diverse background in international technology trade, supply-chain, and security issues spanning a wide range of geographies. Previously he was director of China policy at the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) in Washington D.C. Before moving to Washington D.C. in 2012, Jimmy spent a total of seven years working in the tech sector in China, including for Cisco Systems, APCO Worldwide, and USITO.

    Jimmy has a bachelor’s degree in comparative politics and East Asian studies from Ohio University. He is professionally fluent in Mandarin and serves on the Executive Committee for Beijing-based United States Information Technology Office (USITO), representing SIA in his capacity and on the Board of Directors of the American Mandarin Society, which promotes mandarin-language study for young Americans.

    Hasnul is the Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs for IBM covering Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia. His responsibilities include strategic stakeholder engagement, the provision of policy input to government stakeholders, supporting the business objectives of IBM in Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia and is part of the IBM Malaysia senior leadership team.

    He has over 25 years of experience in working in various leadership roles in startups and the Multimedia Development Corporation ( MDeC ). His extensive experience in handling management, technical and strategy roles has served to strengthen his contribution to the various organizations he has served in. He has been involved in the Economic Transformation Labs at the national ( ETP 2010 ) and regional level ( IRDA ). He has represented IBM as a speaker on a wide range of technology and policy issues at various forums as the ASLI Digital Economy Conference, ASLI Malaysia Education Summit, the Edge SME Summit and other industry events.

    He is currently involved in the Government Relations Committee of the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the US Asean Business Council. He is an avid reader of economic theory, business strategy, biographies and Tom Clancy novels. In his spare time he enjoys trekking, military simulation paintball and strategy themed computer games. His current policy interest areas are national.

    Executive Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers Taxation Services

    Aurobindo is an Executive Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers Taxation Services in Malaysia and has over 25 years of experience in tax consulting, research and training.

    He has worked extensively with tax authorities, in the Asia-Pacific region (including the Malaysian Ministry of Finance and Inland Revenue Board) and corporate organisations on various issues involving tax policy, tax treaties, permanent establishments, cross border transactions, anti-abuse provisions, etc.

    His focus is primarily on consulting assignments in the Government and multinational enterprise space, where he actively engages the various ministries and regulators to bring ideas to them on how
    tax can help achieve their intended outcomes.

    Aurobindo was previously head of Asia-Pacific of an international tax research body and in this role, he was involved in various consulting assignments with the tax authorities in the Asia-Pacific region as well as with international organisations such as the OECD, Study Group of Asian Tax Administrators, Asian Development Bank, etc.

    Aurobindo is a member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (“CTIM”), an Executive Committee member of the International Fiscal Association's (“IFA”) Malaysian branch and a member of CTIM’s International Tax Working Group. He has also been a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences including for IFA, OECD and Asian Development Bank.
