"1 in 6.8 people are experiencing mental health problems in the workplace"

A recent study by World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that depression and anxiety disorders cost the global economy US$ 1 trillion each year in lost productivity. Work is good for mental health but a negative working environment can lead to physical and mental health problems.

Join us on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m (Registration starts at 2:00 p.m.) at AMCHAM's New Executive Office for an exciting session by our Corporate Citizenship Committee members - Florence Tan, Corporate Responsibility, Wellbeing and Diversity & Inclusion Lead of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Wong Ee Laine, Corporate Communications Manager and Chin Chion Shyuan, Senior Product Manager of Johnson & Johnson as they share how their respective firms are helping to spread awareness to this global sensation.

They will be sharing with members on their on-going CSR programs related to mental health:

  • The #PwCWellbeing Programme covers mental and emotional health of employees by introducing initiatives under the mind aspect, from professional hotline services to practicing mindfulness.

  • J&J Malaysia's Global Community Impact focuses on raising awareness of mental health both internally with employees and externally to students and school counsellors through collaborations with NGOs and medical institutions whilst looking to promote mental health literacy to a wider audience locally.
