Event Details

As the Asia Pacific accelerates efforts to digitize their economies, the risk of cyberattacks increases. According to IBM's Security X-Force Threat Intelligence Index, APAC was the most attacked region in 2022, accounting for 31% of attacks globally, and the World Economic Forum (WEF) has declared the region as "the new 'ground zero' for cybercrime incidents." In Malaysia, organizations across industries faced over 74,000 attacks per day in 2023 alone.

At the same time, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) are adding to the cybersecurity threats organizations are facing on a daily basis. The global cost of these threats could triple from US$8.4 trillion to US$24 trillion by 2027. According to IBM, the average cost of a cyber breach in 2023 was US$4.45 million, and for organizations with high levels of security skills shortages, that number ballooned to US$5.26 million.

Meanwhile, many organizations across the region continue to underestimate the risk threat actors pose to their businesses and continue to operate in environments where cybersecurity regulations remain inadequate.

So, how should organizations position themselves to prepare for the inevitable?

Join AMCHAM for this timely panel as experts in the industry navigate and discuss best approaches on cybersecurity.
