Are you ready to embrace a more sustainable future approach and make Recycled Polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) as your main choice of packaging? Coca-Cola Malaysia is proud to launch 'Our Future, Our Choice: RPET & Sustainability' in their efforts towards promoting the sustainable impact of recycled PET as they dive into the progressive path of adopting more sustainable practices in daily manufacturing processes.

Join us for an engaging AMCHAM Spotlight Session which will explore how producers and brand owners can adopt rPET as a more sustainable packaging material. Malaysian Recycling Alliance (MAREA) will also be presenting the unique challenges faced and key considerations needed when increasing public awareness on recycling and sustainable future.

We are pleased to announce that YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change will be giving the keynote address.

During this session, you will be able to:

Engage in thought-provoking discussions with government officials, brand owners, producers and industry experts regarding sustainability efforts and usage of rPET in everyday life.
Gain valuable insights from the experts on Malaysia PET recycling situation and their sustainability initiatives surrounding it.

CEO of Malaysia Recycling Alliances

Roberto Benetello is the CEO of MAREA Berhad - Malaysia Recycling Alliance, Malaysia’s first voluntary, not-for-profit, industry-driven EPR platform to tackle consumer packaging waste issues.
Roberto is a corporate sustainability expert. He strives to assist businesses accelerate the transition to a sustainable world by offering tools, methodologies, training, and capacity building to support the embedment of sustainability into corporate strategy and operations.
Roberto is the Founder, Board member, and until March 2023 the Executive Director, of BCSD Malaysia Berhad, the Business Council for Sustainable Development Malaysia, a Global Network partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

With over twenty-five years’ experience, Roberto’s career includes several senior general management positions with both fortune-500 companies and start-ups, in countries such as Italy, UK, Spain and Malaysia. His main skills include corporate sustainability, international relations and business facilitation, strategic business planning, general management, marketing, and business development.

Roberto holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Italy and an MA in Marketing from Lincoln University, UK.

Tolga Cebe is the new Chief Executive Officer of the Bottling Investments Group (BIG) for Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei, effective 1 June 2023.

Tolga, a Turkish citizen who is also the Chief Commercial Officer for BIG (across 13 countries in Asia and the Middle East), is instrumental in leading the commercial growth agenda with long-term planning across the verticals of revenue growth management, route-to-market, winning at the point of sale, modern trade, e-commerce, and digital transformation centered around E-B2B.

Tolga joined TCCC in 2004 and has held various leadership positions including the Vice President and General Manager – of the Middle East since 2019, overseeing 13 countries across the region.

He has over 27 years of FMCG experience and previously held roles at Procter & Gamble, the Boston Consulting Group, and the Monitor Group, all of which have equipped him with the necessary skills to navigate the ever-changing business landscape, develop sound strategies, and build upon the Company’s strengths.

Minister of Natural Resources, Environment & Climate Change

Nik Nazmi is the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change and Member of Parliament for Setiawangsa. He is also the Vice President of JUSTICE. He has written several books in Malay and English and has columns in Sinar Harian (Malay), the Edge (English) and Sin Chew Daily (Mandarin).

Nik Nazmi was previously the Selangor State Assemblyman for two terms between 2008 – 2018, Selangor State Government EXCO 2014 – 2018 and Member of Parliament for Setiawangsa since 2018. Between 2014-2018 he was the Chief of the Young Forces of Justice and 2017-2018 the first Pakatan Harapan Youth Chief.

Born in Kuala Lumpur in 1982, he received his early education at SRK La Salle Petaling Jaya before going to Malay College Kuala Kangsar, UEM Foundation College and obtained a bachelor's degree in law at King's College London.

Kirsten is currently served as the Director of Sustainability & Partnerships for ASEAN & South Pacific at The Coca-Cola Company. In her role and alongside a motivated team and fellow colleagues, she responsible for driving key partnerships in the region while integrating sustainability into the organization’s business practices. Having come from a background in the non-profit space, she a big believer in creating a greater good for consumers and communities through sustainable business practices.
