Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of the AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region. Developers, startups, entrepreneurs, and enterprises, as well as government, education, and nonprofit organizations, will have greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from AWS data centers located in Malaysia.

As part of its long-term commitment, AWS is planning to invest an estimated $6.2 billion (approximately MYR 29.2 billion) in Malaysia through 2038.

On 5 Aug 2024, Plexus, Teradyne, and City Council of Penang Island worked hand in hand to plant 105 trees along Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway. The team of 60 participants planted Chinese fringe flowers, orange jasmine, and palm trees in the event themed “Trees for Tomorrow: Act Now!”.

Federal Express Corporation announced its community-driven initiative in collaboration with local non-profit Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES) to establish an urban vegetable garden to provide fresh vegetables to low-income communities in Malaysia.

For the second consecutive year, FedEx and TrEES are launching this initiative to address the lack of access to fresh and healthy food in urban areas.

Sabah recently launched the much-anticipated Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (“Sabah-MM2H Programme”) on 30 June 2024 and started accepting applications on 1 July 2024. The Sabah-MM2H Programme is only applicable in Sabah and pass holders are not allowed to work in Malaysia.
