Take advantage of opportunities presented by RCEP, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri tells US businesses
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is hopeful that United States (US) businesses would take advantage of the vast investment opportunities presented by the Regional Economic Comprehensive Partnership (RCEP).

The Prime Mminister said that with regular engagements between the government, the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), and the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, this could contribute towards positioning Malaysia as an attractive investment destination of choice and a supply chain hub in ASEAN.

No more temperature checks soon
No more temperature checks soon
The Health Ministry has agreed to remove temperature checks from the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) governing entry to public places. This would be proposed during the National Security Council meeting for notification and update in the National Recovery Plan SOP document. After it is amended in the next COVID-19 Quartet Ministerial Meeting, it will no longer be compulsory for premises to have temperature checks.

Shorter quarantine for some travelers
Travelers who have received booster shots are only required to undergo a five-day quarantine upon arrival in Malaysia effective Monday, 24 Jan 2022. The travelers with booster shots would need to undergo COVID-19 polymerase-chain reaction (PCR) test two days prior to travelling, on the arrival day and on the fourth day of quarantine; or using rapid test kit (RTK) on the fifth day supervised by health officers.

Chinese New Year family reunion dinners, house-to-house visits allowed, subject to SOP
Family reunion dinners will be allowed on Chinese New Year’s eve on Jan 31. Prayers on the first and second days of the Lunar New Year on Feb1 and 2 would be allowed, with standard operating procedures under Phase Four the National Recovery Plan in place. Special prayers for Hokkien clan, which falls on Feb 8 and 9, as well as prayers for Chap Goh Mei on Feb 15 are allowed.
