| The American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) said it calls for a 5G rollout plan that is transparent, competitive and addresses information security needs.
In a statement on Wednesday (March 2), the Chamber said the government’s plan of action must include these elements to derive an outcome that benefits businesses as well as the rakyat. “5G will be with us for many years to come. As a foundational technology, it needs to be reliable, robust and secure,” it added. |

| Following the launch of the Digital Banking Framework, the Central Bank of Malaysia (CBM) had received by middle of 2021 a total of 29 different applications. Notwithstanding the large number of applications, the CBM will only be granting 5 digital banking licenses and the CBM is set to announce very soon in early 2022 the 5 successful applicants.
The CBM is now looking to introduce a licensing framework for digital insurers and takaful operators as an extension to the world of digital banking. |
