While the benefits of industrial automation in Malaysia have been very apparent, the low adoption rate for automation in the logistics sector begs the need to investigate the potential hurdles and challenges faced by industry players.

HSBC Malaysia has appointed Karel Doshi as the new Head of Commercial Banking, she will be responsible for the SME, mid-market, large corporates, and international segments served by the bank.

In her new role, she will report regionally to Amanda Murphy, Head of Commercial Banking, South & Southeast Asia, and in Malaysia to Omar Siddiq, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bank Malaysia.

The global medical technology company, Smith+Nephew unveiled its new high technology manufacturing facility in Batu Kawan Industrial Park in Penang.

This facility has 250,000 square-foot, worths more than USD100 million in investment and will primarily support the company’s Orthopaedics business, which is expected to grow strongly in the Asia Pacific region.

Real world problems are much more ambiguous — it may not even be clear that there is a problem to be solved. Even if it is, it may not be clear what sort of problem it is, it may not come with sufficient information to be solvable, or in some cases it may not be solvable as given.

For this reason, it is important that strategy makers postpone the urge to immediately start analyzing and deciding and instead begin by asking two basic questions.
