The AMCHAM team today had a chance to visit the Samtec Asia Pacific (M) Sdn Bhd facilities in Johor. It was a very interesting session with the plant managers from both their connectors and electroplating sites explaining the production processes and the criticality of talents in their facilities.

AMCHAM held a celebration of the U.S. Independence Day in Johor. The event celebrating America’s Independence was graced by the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, HE Brian McFeeters and YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Chief Minister of Johor.

On 6 July, AMCHAM held a briefing in Johor with representatives from the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Singapore on the ecosystem for U.S. business in Johor. On his very first trip to Johor, HE Brian McFeeters, U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, attended this briefing.

AMCHAM attended the launch of Malaysia Digital by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob. Held in conjunction with MDEC’s Silver Jubilee Celebration, Malaysia Digital is a national initiative to accelerate Malaysia’s digital economy and encourage and attract companies, talents and investment.

The Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) is organizing a high-level exclusive event titled: ‘Vision 2050: Time to Transform’ on Wednesday, 13 July, 3pm - 5.30pm at Menara BPMB. The event brings in-invaluable insights on accelerating transformations for a net-zero, nature-positive and more equitable future.

The Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards is the first regional awards that recognizes exemplary businesses and organizations working towards gender equality in line with the WEPs. TS Koay Senior Director Global IT, General Manager of Dell Cyberjaya Global Business Center delivered the welcome remarks and Yee Beng Pang, Senior Vice President, South Asia and Managing Director, Dell Technologies provided the opening remarks.
