During this period of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) from 27 October 2020 until 9 November 2020, AMCHAM will once again be bringing you daily updates on the latest COVID-19 developments, which includes the efforts of Government and initiatives from other bodies and organizations.
The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Labuan will be extended for another 14 days, from Oct 31 until Nov 13. Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was taken on the Health Ministry's advice due to the continuous rise in COVID-19 cases in Labuan.
Effective November 1, employers who wish to hire foreign workers through the rehiring programme as well as apply for the recruitment of expatriates are required to advertise the vacancies first on the national employment portal, MYFutureJobs. Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said the advertisement on vacancies at MYFutureJobs should not be less than 14 days for the rehiring programme of foreign workers in the country and 30 days for the application of expatriates.
PENANG will look at boosting its talent pool as it pursues to attract more technology-intensive investments to generate higher quality jobs, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow. He said state agencies like InvestPenang and Penang Development Corporation would continue their relentless efforts to engage with existing and potential investors to explore the various potential opportunities in the new normal.

|LeadWomen and UN Women invite 300 Malaysian companies to commit to gender equality|
AMCHAM are excited to announce its partnership with LeadWomen and UN Women, as one of the supporting organizations for the upcoming WEPs Malaysia Activator Campaigns.
This program will commence from November 2020 until September 2021 and is expected to engage 300 companies to commit to gender equality by becoming signatories of the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
