The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) acknowledges and understands employer concerns about the requirements to advertise vacancies on MYFutureJobs portal and conduct interviews as a prerequisite for hiring foreign workers and expatriates. MYFutureJobs Recommendation Policy came into effect on 1 November 2020, following a Cabinet decision at its meeting on 4 June 2020 to prioritise locals in filling job vacancies.

Due to the recent announcement of the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout most of the country until 6 December, AMCHAM has decided to postpone our much-loved Thanksgiving Luncheon to accommodate the rules around larger groups

Initially scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 24 November at Hilton Kuala Lumpur we are working with the hotel for an alternative date in mid-December. We will continue observing developments and SOPs and keep you informed.

We will continue to watch for further developments and changes in the SOPs in the coming weeks and make an informed decision closer to date about proceeding. We are hoping that come December we will all be able to safely celebrate together.

Shell Malaysia today announced the appointment of Amir Hamzah Abu Bakar as the new managing director (MD) and general manager manufacturing of Shell MDS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, effective Oct 1, 2020. In a statement today, the group said Amir will be responsible for managing and leading gas-to-liquids (GTL) manufacturing, marketing, sales and overall operational and financial performance of Shell MDS.
