The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has approved 312 projects with investment value of RM22.9 billion from July 1 until Oct 31, 2020 via the electronic manufacturing licence digital platform (e-ML). Senior Minister cum International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the approvals under the manufacturing licence via fast track was among the ministry’s efforts to attract new investment in high impact industry and based on technology.

Due to the recent announcement of the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout most of the country until 6 December, AMCHAM has decided to postpone our much-loved Thanksgiving Luncheon to accommodate the rules around larger groups.

The Thanksgiving Luncheon will now take place at Hilton Kuala Lumpur on 14 December, 12:00pm – 2:00pm.

A new era of automation will profoundly change everyday tasks in the office and in the field. Workers must adapt en masse by re-skilling for these new workloads, and it'll take new technology to help them do it at scale. The World Economic Forum's "Future of Jobs 2020" report predicts that machines will spend as much time on work-based tasks as human employees by 2025.

According to Gartner, the worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is forecast to grow 18.4% in 2021 to total $304.9 billion, up from $257.5 billion in 2020. Its research VP Sid Nag claims that the pandemic has validated cloud’s value proposition, where the ability to use on-demand, scalable cloud models to achieve cost efficiency and business continuity is providing the impetus for organisations to rapidly accelerate their digital business transformation plans.
