| Malaysia's total trade in October this year contracted 2.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to RM159.98 billion, according to the International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI). The ministry said the country's trade surplus in October widened to RM22.12 billion, registering a double-digit growth of 25.9 per cent YoY, the highest trade surplus ever recorded for the month of October. |

Due to the recent announcement of the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout most of the country until 6 December, AMCHAM has decided to postpone our much-loved Thanksgiving Luncheon to accommodate the rules around larger groups.
The Thanksgiving Luncheon will now take place at Hilton Kuala Lumpur on 14 December (Monday), 12.00pm - 2.00pm.
We are hoping that come December we will all be able to safely celebrate together.

| COVID-19 has provided an unexpected boon to Malaysian millennials' (those aged 25 to 44) finances. Standard Chartered Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Abrar A. Anwar said Malaysian millennials were indicating a sense of responsibility with their finances in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. | The government, through the Health Ministry, has inked a deal with pharmaceutical company Pfizer to obtain COVID-19 vaccines for 20 per cent of the Malaysian population starting next year. Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government had, on Nov 24, signed a preliminary purchasing agreement (perjanjian pembelian awal) of 12.8 million doses to immunise 6.4 million Malaysians. |
