Global sales of semiconductors are projected to increase 5.1% in 2020 to US$433.1 billion (from US$412.3 billion in 2019), followed by an increase of 8.4% in 2021, said the US-based Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). Projections for both years are higher than they were in the previous World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) forecast released in July

Due to the recent announcement of the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout most of the country until 6 December, AMCHAM has decided to postpone our much-loved Thanksgiving Luncheon to accommodate the rules around larger groups.
The Thanksgiving Luncheon will now take place at Hilton Kuala Lumpur on 14 December (Monday), 12.00pm - 2.00pm.
We are hoping that come December we will all be able to safely celebrate together.

Malaysia finalist Ashley Lim Siew Fern has been named 2020 EY Young Tax Professional of the Year (YTPY). Ashley, 21, who is pursuing her Bachelor of Commerce (Professional Accounting) degree in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, was selected from 32 finalists from around the world who competed in a series of virtual workshops and presentations designed to showcase their knowledge of the international tax system.
