The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched its Human Development Report 2020 earlier today, which saw Malaysia scoring 0.810 in the Human Development Index (HDI), putting the country in the high classification tier. The report titled “The Next Frontier: Human Development in the Anthropocene” provided details on how Malaysia has developed over the last 30 years.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is the latest and largest of multilateral agreements that was signed on November 15, 2020. Would it have an impact on supply chains throughout Asia and what other impact would it bring? On 16 December, AMCHAM held a virtual discussion on the RCEP and its implication on supply chains.

Earlier this year, the Malaysian government introduced new requirements in minimum housing standards for workers under the Workers' Minimum Standards of Housing, Accommodation and Amenities Act 1990, effective 1 June 2020.
