Most businesses in the retail sector are now allowed to operate starting tomorrow under strict compliance with existing standard operating procedures (SOP), Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced on 9 Feb. Ismail Sabri said the decision was made during a special meeting held by the National Security Council (NSC) in order to ensure economic sustainability in the country, especially small-time traders who have been adversely affected by COVID-19.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced Suzanne Clark will become the next chief executive officer of the world’s largest business organization, effective March 11, 2021, the date of the organization’s next Board of Directors meeting. Clark currently serves as the president of the U.S. Chamber, a director on two corporate boards, and she is a former business owner. She will add the CEO title and succeed Thomas J. Donohue, who revitalized the organization and effectively led it for 24 years. Chamber Board Chair Christopher Lofgren made the announcement today to the Board and in a letter to the organization’s members and employees across the country.

In accordance with Article 21 of the AmChams of Asia Pacific (AAP) constitution, Chair Steven Chan appointed the following chambers to serve on the Nominating Committee for the 2021 AAP Chair election: AmCham India, AmCham Indonesia, AmCham Japan, AmCham Korea, AmCham Malaysia, AmCham Okinawa, and AmCham South China. The committee appointed Joseph Dowd from AmCham Okinawa to serve as Chair of the Nominating Committee.
