| The National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2024-2028 (“NACS”) was launched by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on 7 May 2024. The headlines that grabbed the most attention in media coverage of the launch was a statement by Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam bin Baki, the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (“MACC”) that the country had lost a staggering RM277 billion due to corruption for the five-year period from 2018 to 2023.
