To welcome the new U.S. Ambassador, Brian McFeeters to Malaysia, AMCHAM and the US-ASEAN Business Council held a virtual meeting on 26 March to familiarize the Ambassador with the American business community in Malaysia.

People who are considered as economic frontliners will be the additional group included in the second phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the addition in phase two, which was initially intended only for senior citizens aged 60 and above as well as high-risk groups, is due to the low number of registrations for the vaccines.

Despite concerns over slower economic growth in the early part of 2021, Malaysia’s broader economic outlook is expected to continue recovering as implied by the improvement in the Leading Index (LI) recently, said MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd Research.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger outlined the company’s path forward to manufacture, design and deliver leadership products and create long-term value for stakeholders. During the company’s global “Intel Unleashed: Engineering the Future” webcast, Gelsinger shared his vision for “IDM 2.0,” a major evolution of Intel’s integrated device manufacturing (IDM) model. Gelsinger announced significant manufacturing expansion plans, starting with an estimated $20 billion investment to build two new factories (or “fabs”) in Arizona.
