Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin said the government is currently mulling over the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) report of rare blood clots as a possible side effect of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. The Special Committee on COVID-19 Vaccine Supply will take note of the take note of EMA’s announcement on the AstraZeneca vaccine before deciding if Malaysia will administer the AstraZeneca vaccine to its citizens as planned.

Five new entrepreneurs from Sabah have been chosen as the 2020 Shell LiveWIRE winners. This is the sixth edition of Shell’s entrepreneurship development initiative for the local community in the state.The winners received a seed grant of RM3,000, as well as mentoring and coaching support from Shell LiveWIRE facilitators for the next nine months to empower them on their entrepreneurial aspirations.

The recent dip in Malaysian bond yields presents an opportunity for issuers and corporates to ensure long-term debts are refinanced, said RHB chief economist Dr Sailesh Kumar Jha. This is as yields are expected to rise further, tracking higher US Treasury yields and in line with the anticipated market adjustments after a decade-long period of low interest rates globally.
