| The government has agreed to impose a temporary ban on flights to and from India beginning April 28, to prevent the spread of a new variant of the COVID-19 disease in the country. Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said travellers who embarked on a journey from any destination in India, either via direct flight or transit to Malaysia, were prohibited from entering the country. |

| To prevent the spread of a new variant of the COVID-19, a set of SOPs have also been released for travelers returning from countries reported with the spread of Variants of Concern (VOC). Additionally. the National Security Council has released a list of actions to prevent entry of a new COVID-19 Variant from India. |

| Any group, including media practitioners, wanting to be among the early recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine can submit their applications to the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF). the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme had been systematically arranged according to phases and any applications to receive the vaccine earlier would be decided based on metrics and methods set by the CITF. |
