During this period of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), AMCHAM will be bringing you daily updates on the latest COVID-19 developments, which includes the efforts of the Government and initiatives from other bodies and organizations. |

| Following the recent announcement of the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Selangor and KL, new sets of SOPs have been released.
Notable updates include the areas affected, restrictions on crossing state and district borders, and activities that are allowed and prohibited. |

| The Government has decided to allow all economic sectors including the manufacturing sector to continue operating in the six districts of Selangor under the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0, except for certain activities listed under the negative list of the MCO 3.0 General Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). |

| Several localities in Johor, Perak and Terengganu will be placed under the movement control order from May 7 to 20.
The localities are - Johor Baru, Kulai and Kota Tinggi - in Johor, Taiping, Larut Matang and Selama in Perak and parts of Terengganu's Besut district. |

| Recipients of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine who were given dates earlier than the recommended 12 weeks between doses for their second jab will have their appointments rescheduled. The COVID-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) tweeted as such in response to queries from members of the public, stating it will provide a new date for their second appointments soon. |

Roundtable Meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia |
| Brian McFeeters, U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia had a fruitful discussion with members of the Malaysian American Electronics Industry (MAEI) earlier this morning at the AMCHAM Executive Office. It was an opportunity for our MAEI members to have face time with Ambassador McFeeters to discuss on areas of concerns within the industry. Some of the areas discussed included talent, supply chain resilience and Malaysia's competitiveness. It was a productive session and we hope to host other roundtables in the future. |

| This week, McKinsey examined what industries should do to develop the talent and knowledge they need. To flourish during and after the pandemic, companies need a new set of skills, including social and emotional, advanced cognitive, and digital capabilities. In a recent McKinsey Global Survey, 69 percent of respondents said that building the skills of existing staff is more important than any other method of talent building, including hiring. |
