On 29 May, AMCHAM proudly hosted the 2024 Ambassador’s Cup at the prestigious Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC). Our signature golf tournament this time around saw a total of 48 golfers taking part in a friendly round of golf with the U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Edgard D. Kagan.

Sashvin Raj Sivalingam joins the Government Relations team this month. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business & Marketing from INTI International University.

Sashvin has 8 years of invaluable working experience and was previously attached to an embassy’s Economic Section as a Trade Officer.

Muhammad Iqhwan bin Madzli is a fresh graduate joining our Chamber Associate program this year.

Wan graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia with a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs Management (with Honors). He will be supporting the Government Relations team in the first few months at AMCHAM.

Malaysia's semiconductor sector's global footprint is set for exponential growth with key initiatives to be unveiled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

Global tech firm Google will be investing RM9.4 billion in Malaysia to house its first data centre and Google Cloud region. The investment will create 26,500 jobs across Malaysia, including in healthcare, education, and finance; which is expected to generate a total economic impact valued at RM15.04 billion.

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) issued a media release on 13 May 2024 announcing that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Bursa Carbon Exchange (“BCX”)¹ will be hosting its first auction of Malaysian carbon credits from the Kuamut Rainforest Conservation Project (“Kuamut Project”) on 25 July 2024.

In the realm of customer feedback metrics, few have garnered as much attention and adoption as the Net Promoter Score (NPS). Heralded for its simplicity — a single question that gauges the likelihood of customers to recommend a product or service to others — it became an instrumental tool for businesses to measure customer feedback.

NPS measures a customer’s satisfaction, but not necessarily how easily they could switch to an alternative. Another potent metric, the Customer Surplus Value (CSV) complements NPS by focusing on a core concept from microeconomics: consumer surplus.
