Fully Vaccinated Malaysians Can Travel Interstate From 11 October

Prime Minister Dato Seri Ismail Sabri has announced that all Malaysians who have received both doses or fully vaccinated can travel interstate effective tomorrow.

This comes after the national vaccination for adults hit the 90% milestone which under the National Recovery Plan listed out various immunisation threshold before activities and borders would be lifted. In his live telecast on social platform, Sabri declared “The Government has agreed to allow Keluarga Malaysia who are fully vaccinated to cross state borders without police permit”

Malaysia has been in lockdown since May this year under MCO 3.0 with the easing in Klang Valley only taking place one month ago however the borders were still closed even though many states started seeing reduced Covid-19 cases. With restrictions now lifted, experts are concerned of complacency and control to see if those not vaccinated could try to cross borders as well.

Business association in the meantime welcome the news as this will further spur the economy especially drive growth for the tourism sector which has been the worst hit.
