Event Details

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has touched nearly every aspect of the working world, with occupational health and safety (OHS) risks that have emerged as a result of measures put in place to mitigate the spread of the virus in the workplace. Shifts to new forms of working arrangements, such as the widespread reliance on teleworking have, for example, presented many opportunities for workers but also pose OHS issues, including psychosocial risks.

The recent decision by the Government to remove the 30% limit for management staff to work in the office as of 1st April 2021 is a positive step towards reviving the economy. However, employers must be responsible and undertake safety protocols to ensure that the workplace is free from contamination as well as to curb any potential spread of COVID-19. In addition to this, they have to ensure their employees are ready to return to work, both mentally and physically.

In this session, we ask how corporates are taking a phased approach to bring more employees back to the workplace where everyone can continue to be productive and feel safe not just physically, but also mentally, as people grapple with the new normal of hybrid work environments and uncertain changes to work-life balance.

Join us in this session as we bring together, Dr. Richard Jones, Regional Medical Director, South East Asia Region, International SOS, Sugunah Verumandy, Country Human Resource Director of HSBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Dr. Rohini Kamalanathan van Hoboken, Senior Director, Western Digital Tech and Regional Center (M) Sdn. Bhd., and Lee Koh Wing, Director of Corporate Services Intel Malaysia & South East Asia, to discuss their approaches and best practices in returning people back to work.

This session is brought to you by the recently established Human Resources Committee at AMCHAM.
