Intel To Facilitate Advanced Learning Through System Cloud For University Platform

Intel in collaboration with Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) and CREST has launched the System Cloud for University (SC4U) platform to enable remote hands-one learning access and to support university for technological resources.

Present during the event were Eric Chan, Vice President of Internet of Things Group, Intel Corporation, Jaffri Ibrahim, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CREST, and Thomas Mathew, the Group CEO of TalentCorp.

TalentCorp will be looking to bridge talents, particularly graduates, to utilise the same infrastructure to improve the employability of the graduates, while CREST will help to manage the engagement with universities.

SC4U is deploying remote access to leading-edge boards, system and development tools hosted on Intel Cloud Environment. Through SC4U’s latest hardware, students will have access to a new avenue and one-stop solution in their learning and teaching experience.

This includes a virtual lab environment with systems and tools, enable access for online learning and more collaborative between students and lecturers. Students can fast track their learning and retrieve it according to their learning time zone.

Minister of Human Resources, M. Saravanan who officiated the event said, “SC4U is a great initiative to help both faculty and students gaining access to the latest advanced learning platform. It is also timely to facilitate students with online learning as they are now facing difficulty getting back in campus physically.”

“SC4U serves as a great support to improve the competencies, skills and knowledge of Malaysia’s talent pool. This encourages students to embrace digital technology, with remote learning being the new norm,” he added.

CREST and Intel have collaborated on various initiative and taken proactive steps to develop industry-ready talent for the E&E industry.

Meanwhile, Eric Chan commented, “Realistically, we will not be able to fully replace what the physical lab experiences can provide, but we strive to restore 80 percent of the hands-on learning experience through the SC4U offering.”

“We are targeting to provide this avenue for 20 institutions first and will increase upon further demand,” he concluded.
