Franklin Templeton Appoints New Head Of Asia Distribution

Following its acquisition of Legg Mason in 2020, Franklin Templeton has established a new regionalised distribution model for its business and made new appointments in lead roles. In focusing on the rapidly growing Asia business, the global investment management firm has appointed Tariq Ahmad as Head of Asia Distribution to further strengthen the company’s leadership team for future growth in the region.

Ahmad has been with Brandywine Global Investment Management (Brandywine Global), a specialist investment manager of Franklin Templeton since 2017 and served as its lead. With more than 18 years of experience, he is an industry veteran with a successful track record of leading investment businesses in Asia. Based in Singapore, he will report to Vivek Kudva, Head of APAC Distribution. Kudva will continue to provide overall strategic direction and focus on growing, consolidating and diversifying Franklin Templeton’s business by geography, client type and strategy in the Asia Pacific region.

Ahmad’s current role as CEO of Brandywine Global (Asia) will be assumed by John Tsao, Director at Brandywine Global and former CEO of Brandywine Global (Asia).
