Malaysia will open its borders fully if the 2 criteria set out by the Health Ministry are met. Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin in his regular updates on the COVID-19 situation in the country said that in order for the Ministry to advise the Cabinet to relax the borders and requirement on quarantine period will only be when the booster vaccination among the adult population and the vaccination for kids showed improved rates.

A total of 12,055,099 adults or 51.5% of the group in the country had received their COVID-19 vaccine booster dose as of Wednesday (Feb 2). A total of 22,925,835 individuals or 97.9% of the adult population of the nation had completed their COVID-19 vaccination; 99.1% or 23,202,575 individuals had received at least one dose of the vaccine.
