On June 25, AMCHAM held its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM), at which five Governors were re-elected, and four new Governors joined the returning board members.

AMCHAM’s CEO Siobhan Das expressed her delight in seeing some new companies join the Chamber’s Board: ” There is so much more we can do, and it is great to work with a group of executives who understand how a Chamber can support businesses in Malaysia and drive the AMCHAM mission of being the Voice of U.S. Business in Malaysia.”

The Minister of Economy, Rafizi Ramli, announced recently that efforts are underway to introduce a comprehensive legal framework for the implementation of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (‘CCUS’) initiatives in Malaysia. In connection with this, a Memorandum has been tabled to the Malaysia Cabinet on 21 May 2024, which is intended to spearhead the preparation of such a framework.

Penny Burtt has been announced as the new President of the Boeing's Southeast Asia business, effective July 3.

Burtt will be based in Singapore and oversee the company’s strategy and operations as Boeing expands its regional presence. She will also become Director and Chair of Boeing Singapore Pte. Ltd. and President Director of PT. Boeing Indonesia.
