AMCHAM Update #9: COVID-19 Outbreak
During this (extended) period of the Movement Control Order, AMCHAM will be bringing updates on the latest COVID-19 developments, which includes the efforts of Government and initiatives from other bodies and organizations.
MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER EXTENDED UNTIL 14 APRIL, 2020
On Wednesday (25 March, 2020), the government announced the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) for another two weeks until April 14.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he was given a briefing by the National Security Council and Health Ministry and the trend showed new Covid-19 positive cases had spiked.

COMPANIES WITH MITI’S APPROVAL LETTER MAY CONTINUE TO OPERATE DURING EXTENDED MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER
The Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) has approved for companies to resume their operations while the Movement Control Order (MCO) remains in effect until 14 April 2020. This approval also applies to essential goods.

LOGISTICS, TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR COMPANIES MANUFACTURING ESSENTIAL GOODS PERMITTED TO OPERATE
Logistics and transportation services for companies in the manufacturing essential and critical items are permitted to operate during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
