AMCHAM Update #10: COVID-19 Outbreak
During this (extended) period of the Movement Control Order, AMCHAM will be bringing updates on the latest COVID-19 developments, which includes the efforts of Government and initiatives from other bodies and organizations.
MINISTER OF TRANSPORT MEASURES TO ENSURE CONTINUED SUPPLY OF ESSENTIAL GOODS DURING MCO
The Minister of Transport issued a press release to assure the public that the supply of essential goods will go on even with the Movement Control Order (MCO) in place.

Households will not be placed under any more stress than is necessary. Any movement of essential goods for us all must not be curtailed or delayed from reaching those who need them in the market.

Media Statement By Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia Tax Deductible Incentives For Covid-19
The Ministry of Finance of Malaysia (MOF) and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) greatly appreciate people who want to contribute to efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic. As a both a show of appreciation and encouragement to the people to contribute, IRBM announced that tax deduction incentives will be given to donors who donate cash or goods that will be used to tackle the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak and to help the people affected by the outbreak.

These are unprecedented times in Malaysia. It requires us to rally together to support those on the front lines and the most vulnerable, thus showing how deeply AMCHAM cares for the country and the communities we engage with.

MY AMCHAM CARES and AMCHAM’s Corporate Citizenship Community are coordinating with all members, especially from the E&E/semi-con industry (MAEI), to address the needs arising from the COVID-19 health crisis.

AMCHAM aims to provide an impact to the frontline workers e.g. healthcare workers, and communities, that are under-served and most vulnerable at this time.
