AMCHAM Update #23: COVID-19 Outbreak

During this (extended) period of the Movement Control Order, AMCHAM will be bringing updates on the latest COVID-19 developments, which includes the efforts of Government and initiatives from other bodies and organizations.
Approval of Companies Allowed to Operate During MCO Phase 1 & 2 Applicable to MCO Phase 3
The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) wishes to inform that the approval by MITI for organizations to operate during the first two phases of the Movement Control Order (MCO) will apply to the third phase as well.

Attached are 2 docs, the first depicts the details required for applying to continue business operations during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. The second doc is the sheet for listing down worker details. Applications can be made at the MITI website: https://application.miti.gov.my/

Phase two of MCO ends today, phase three begins tomorrow
Phase two of the Movement Control Order (MCO) which began on April 1 ends today, and tomorrow sees it going into the third phase which is until April 28. The purpose of the MCO remains the same, which is to break the chain of COVID-19 infections in the country. Announcing the extension of the MCO into phase three last Friday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urged the people to work together to fight the spread of COVID-19 as the pandemic has not yet ended.
