Due to the recent announcement of the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout most of the country until 6 December, AMCHAM has decided to postpone our much-loved Thanksgiving Luncheon to accommodate the rules around larger groups.

The Thanksgiving Luncheon will now take place at Hilton Kuala Lumpur on 14 December, 12:00pm – 2:00pm.

We are hoping that come December we will all be able to safely celebrate together.

The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) recently issued new guidelines on the requirement to advertise expatriate positions via the national employment portal MYFutureJobs. To support our members to better understand the new requirements, AMCHAM held a webinar this morning, November 17.

Angeline van den Broecke, director of global business development & marketing of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre's, an AMCHAM member company, has been elected to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) board of directors at the 59th ICCA general assembly recently. On her new role at ICCA, Angeline congratulated ICCA president James Rees on another leadership term as well as all re-elected and new ICCA board members.

FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. has announced its new Batu Kawan station. The one-stop logistics facility in Penang will provide customers with extended connectivity to both land and air networks from the northern region of Malaysia to the world. The station is the second largest in in the area for FedEx which strengthens the company’s logistics network within the Northern Region of the country.

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) today announced what it termed a major organisational restructuring to reinvent its role as the leader of Malaysia’s digital economy and ensure it benefits the many. This follows the recent appointment of four "industry trailblazers" to MDEC’s board of directors, it said in a statement, adding that the organisational restructuring will also address the disruption of the new norm and improving its standard of governance.
