| The Prime Minister will announce the country's next measures to be taken to curb the steep rise in COVID-19 infections, says Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. "The government is always monitoring the current situation of the COVD-19 pandemic and will discuss the best measures to stop its spread." |

| Pfizer Inc and BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine appeared to work against a key mutation in the highly transmissible new variants of the coronavirus discovered in the UK and South Africa, according to a laboratory study conducted by the US drug maker. The not-yet peer reviewed study by Pfizer and scientists from the University of Texas Medical Branch indicated the vaccine was effective in neutralising virus with the so-called N501Y mutation of the spike protein. |
