Prime Minister's Announcement on MCO Starting 13 January
Today, 11 January, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Prime Minister of Malaysia, announced the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Melaka, Johor, Sabah, Putrajaya and Labuan starting from midnight Wednesday (Jan 13). CMCO in 6 states
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Kedah, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu will be placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) beginning Wednesday (Jan 13) for two weeks. In a special address aired live today, Muhyiddin said Perlis and Sarawak will continue to observe the Recovery MCO (RMCO). While interdistrict travel is permitted in CMCO and RMCO states, interstate travel will not be allowed nationwide during this period.
