CORRECTION NOTICE: Malaysian Immigration Update for Expatriate Teachers and their Dependents |

Notice for Expatriate Teaching Staff and their Dependents:
- Expatriate teachers are allowed to leave Malaysia for summer break and return to Malaysia thereafter;
- The validity of the exit and return approval is ninety (90) days from the issuance of the approval letter by the immigration Department;
- For those who wish to stay outside of Malaysia for more than 90 days, the employer is to apply for the exit approval before leaving Malaysian and entry for approval separately before returning; and
- The application for exit and entry can be submitted through MYEntry system.

| The U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, Brian McFeeters, said he is very impressed by Malaysia’s responses to COVID-19. He said these include the efforts in preventing the spread of the virus and treating the COVID-19 patients, as well as the vaccination programme. McFeeters was speaking to reporters after witnessing the handing over of US contribution to the COVID-19 Integrated Quarantine and Treatment Centre 2.0 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang. |

| The compound for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO) has been increased from RM1,000 to RM10,000 starting today, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador. He said the Emergency (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021 was gazetted beginning 12.01am today. |

The announcement was made celebrating the International Women’s Day. In a statement, MDEC said that the appointments are a continuation of the Digital for Malaysia Associate Programme (DMAP), which provides opportunities for new graduates in the fields of digital technology, data science and AI to gain digital work experience in these fields. |
