Updated MCO SOPs
Updated MCO SOPs
With the whole of Malaysia under Movement Control Order 3.0 from 12 May to 7 June 2021, an updated set of SOPs have been released.

Notable changes include the number of people allowed in a vehicle, the alternative documents that can be used for work-related movement by employees, internal meetings being restricted to within the same premises or building, etc.

The MITI letter can only be used for the movement of employees from companies registered with MITI
The MITI letter can only be used for the movement of employees from companies registered with MITI.

It is PROHIBITED to be misused for personal purposes or movement with family/friends.

The QR code in the MITI letter contains the company registration information including a list of employee names that can be scanned by the PDRM.

During the Movement Control Order (MCO) period announced nationwide from 12 May to 7 June 2021, there are sectors that can still operate but need to be registered in the CIMS 3.0 MITI system. This is a list of sectors allowed to register with with CIMS 3.0 and continue operations:
  • Manufacturing and related services - Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI)
  • Professional Services - Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI)

Strict clampdown on travel among new SOPs to be enforced during MCO 3.0
The National Security Council (NSC) has released a detailed list of uniform standard operating procedures (SOP) that will be enforced during the latest MCO from Wednesday (May 12).

The interstate and inter-district travel ban continues during the nationwide MCO, while police, army, civil defence and Rela personnel have been assigned to enforce movement restrictions in COVID-19 hotspots.
