The Penang state government has approved an RM1.04 million allocation to assist those impacted by Phase One of the National Recovery Plan (NRP). The state exco approved this today, 1 July, and the funds were in addition to special allocations channeled to the respective state assemblymen in Penang.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) meeting today gave its approval for the plantation and commodity sector to be the fourth sector involved in the industrial vaccination programme. Also, the CITF has so far approved 27 industrial vaccination centres for the construction, transportation and manufacturing sectors under the supervision of the Works Ministry, Transport Ministry and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

Malaysia administered 258,773 doses of COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday (June 30). On Wednesday, 163,756 people received their first jabs of the vaccine, while 95,017 completed both doses. This brings the total numbers of doses administered in Malaysia to 8,083,685.

The Immigration Department of Malaysia has announced an update to the renewal process for the Employment Pass (EP).

This update, effective from 1 July 2021 onwards, will be applicable for expatriates who will remain in Malaysia and wish to proceed with the EP renewal for the same position in the same company.
