For any organization, being able to navigate through a crisis effectively is crucial. Today, the panel came together on the topic of Crisis Management and shared their expert advice on effective handling of a crisis.

With the implementation of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Seremban District and Indahpura Industrial Area and 7 Localities in the Senai Industrial Area from 9 July to 22 July 2021, a new set of SOPs have been released. Updates mainly have to do with movement control and permitted activities within the EMCO areas.

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has made it compulsory for workers employed by manufacturers within Selangor enclaves placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) to be tested twice a week using the Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) to determine early if workers have contracted the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sharp rise in COVID-19 vaccinations in Malaysia represents a breath of fresh air for the people, in hope of a successful “exit strategy” from the pandemic by achieving herd immunity. Thanks to consistent supplies of the vaccine now, the National COVID-19 Immunisation Plan (PICK) has picked up pace, recently reaching 300,000 vaccinations per day.

Microsoft Malaysia, the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and Junior Achievement (JA) Malaysia, have forged a partnership to upskill some 25,000 Malaysians targeting graduates and unemployed individuals, through the ‘Digital Skills for Tomorrow’s Jobs’ Programme.

Hospital Kuala Lumpur is currently in urgent need of hospital equipments due to overwhelming number of COVID-19 patients. AMCHAM is seeking support from any of our member companies who is able to contribute.

Hospital Ampang has close to 150 COVID patients now in, and for the past few weeks the hospital has been expanding the wards in terms of manpower, equipment, and proper isolation spaces.

Both patients and clinicians need equipments urgently to be able to do their work.
