With the recent announcement on changes to the permitted activities in areas undergoing National Recovery Plan (NRP) Phases 1, 2 and 3, a new set of SOPs have been released. Updated SOPs for the manufacturing sector have also been released. Notable updates include activities that fully vaccinated individuals have access to, movement control, emergency response (for manufacturing sector) and more.

The Penang government will continue to cooperate with relevant agencies to ensure the success of the COVID-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP) in the state despite the current political upheaval at the federal level. The state government would ensure that what had been set out for the state would continue uninterrupted.

A total of 28,312,631 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the COVID-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP) as of yesterday (Aug 16), according to the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV). A total of 17,252,314 individuals have received the first dose of the vaccine while 11,060,317 people got the second dose.

Shell Malaysia appoints Seow Lee Ming as General Manager (GM) Mobility for Malaysia and Singapore to lead the strategic development and growth of Mobility in Malaysia and Singapore. In this role, Lee Ming led a team of 53 marketing professionals that successfully transformed Shell’s digital and social media approach, built a premium brand, and developed effective B2C and B2B engagement activities.

Today, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysia’s lead agency in digital transformation, announced the appointment of Romainor Ismail as its Procurement Director. He will be responsible to lead, direct and coordinate all aspects of MDEC’s procurement activities in ensuring the acquisitions of goods and services are both cost-efficient and high quality. Romainor will also be tasked with managing contracts, evaluating supply options and maintaining accurate records.

Hospital Kuala Lumpur is currently in urgent need of hospital equipments due to overwhelming number of COVID-19 patients. AMCHAM is seeking support from any of our member companies who is able to contribute.

Hospital Ampang has close to 150 COVID patients now in, and for the past few weeks the hospital has been expanding the wards in terms of manpower, equipment, and proper isolation spaces.

Both patients and clinicians need equipments urgently to be able to do their work.

Hospital Kepala Batas has set up the new Hospital Medan to cope with the rising numbers of ICU patients since May 2021. They are currently in urgent need of medical equipment. AMCHAM is seeking support from any of our member companies.
