| The COVID-19 pandemic caused challenges for supply chains globally. Multiple national lockdowns continues to slow or even temporarily stop the flow of raw materials and finished goods, disrupting manufacturing as a result including Malaysia – U.S. Companies.

| Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, which have been categorised as one infection zone, will transition into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) beginning this Friday. Travel between these three states will be allowed, with police roadblocks instructed to be removed. |

| The Penang State government will establish a State Emergency Response Team to mobilise the necessary resources in facing the endemic phase of COVID-19. The team would be led by state Environment and Welfare Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh in mobilising the resources, especially in facing the rising number of daily cases currently. |

| The state will distribute 40,000 COVID-19 self-test kits for free in phases beginning next week. The self-test kits would also be distributed to district offices as well as the state secretary office, to be given to the people of Penang who need it for free. An allocation of 500 COVID-19 self-test kits for each Penang state assemblyman and member of Parliament will be distributed to constituents who need them. |

| The government is looking at further revising down the price of COVID-19 self-test kits by end of this year to make them accessible to everyone.
To expand testing efforts, the Ministry of Health has recognised RTK Antigen and approved several COVID-19 self-test kits which can be bought in pharmacies nationwide. |

| More than half or 50.5% of Malaysia's total population have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on Wednesday (Sept 8). 16,492,295 Malaysians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while 20,293,582 Malaysians have received at least one dose. |
