| Klang Valley and Malacca officially enter into Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) today, 1 October. With that, an updated set of SOPs have been released for areas undergoing Phase 2, 3, and 4 of the NRP. Notable updates include the permitted activities for fully vaccinated individuals, events for public and private sectors, seminars, workshops, courses, training and talks, and more. | The government has maintained that social and economic sectors, including dine-ins at eateries in states under all phases of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), are only allowed for fully vaccinated individuals. For individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to health factors, they must provide health information that has been verified by a medical officer. |

| The Health Ministry has announced that the CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine from Chinese manufacturer Sinovac has been given conditional approval for those aged 12 and above. The use of CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccine from Sinovac Life Sciences Co. Ltd., China and Pharmaniaga Lifesciences Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, was approved in a Drug Control Authority meeting on Friday (Oct 1). |
